Srinagar: Dukhtaran-e-Millat (DeM) on Thursday said that NIA court has extended the extended judicial custody of its party chairperson Asiya Andrabi, general secretary Nahida Nasreen and press secretary Sofi Fehmeeda until March 5.
In a statement, DeM spokesperson Rifat Fatima said: “The trio were produced in the NIA court and the next date for the hearing is set on March 5.”
“It is a ploy to extend the incarceration of our party leaders,” she alleged.
She further said that it is ironic that these women leaders are being denied medical and other facilities in the Tihar jail.
“Every dissenting voice is crushed in Kashmir,” she said. “Every now and then voices calling for freedom keep on rising and will continue as such.”
New Delhi must understand that “they cannot muzzle the voices of Kashmiris,” the spokesperson said. “The movement has passed on to the next generation.”
