PAMPORE: Chief Engineer Public Health Engineering (PHE) Kashmir Enginer Abdul Wahid on Thursday chaired a high level meeting in Pampore to review 40 water supply schemes worth 45 crore which are languishing under NABARD, NRDWP and LIC programmes in Pulwama and Shopian districts.
The chief engineer directed the officers to complete the schemes till September-October this year. He emphasised upon all the engineers to complete the water supply schemes within the shortest possible time and to provide dependent water supply to all the population of the districts within next year.
Furthermore, the civil and mechanical engineers put forth a proposal for taking up a new scheme for Pampore Town which can also operate during floods as well as summers when water level drastically falls in source river Jhelum. The CE gave a nod to go ahead and frame a DPR for the same for which he will approach the government.
