Stray dogs injure 4 persons in Uri

Baramulla: A pack of stray dogs attacked and injured as many as 51 persons in north Kashmir’s Baramulla town on Tuesday. The injured including several women, were rushed to Baramulla district hospital, where they were provided the vaccine.
At least four people were attacked and injured by stray dogs in Boniyar area of Uri in this north Kashmir district on Thursday.
Eyewitnesses said that a group of stray dogs attacked and injured at least four persons including a minor and a female in Boniyar market.
The injured were shifted to a nearby primary health centre for treatment, where they were provided the vaccine.
The injured were identified as Abdul Hamid of Barnate Boniyar, Arselana Bano resident of Batangi Boniyar, Uzair and Reyaz of Boniyar.
The locals said that a pack of stray dogs believed to be non local is roaming in the area from past few weeks that killed about half a dozen cattle.
The similar reports from Uri also said that groups of stray dogs are roaming in main town Uri that injured several people in the past.
The people appealed authorities to investigate who bring these unknown dogs in the area and curb their population as soon as possible.
