Srinagar: Tehreek-e-Hurriyat (TeH) chief Mohammad Ashraf Sehrai on Wednesday calls for unity among the people, saying it is high time that Kashmir’s show steadfastness “to take the present struggle to its logical conclusion”.
According to the statement, TeH chief stated this in Sopore where he was visiting the bereaved family of Jama’at leader Ab. Raheem Langoo who passed away on Tuesday.
While expressing serious concern over the prevailing situation in Kashmir, Sehrai said: “Global community should wake up and take note of the pain inflicted on innocent Kashmiris and build pressure on New Delhi to honour the aspirations of people of Kashmir.”
He said that because of the lingering Kashmir dispute, “there is an instability in the whole sub-continent and the only way to end it is to resolve the issue of Kashmir as per the aspirations of people”.
While paying tributes to the deceases, Sehrai said the Langoo occupies a special status in every aspect be it social, religious and political. “He always exhibited courage and bravery even though facing confinement and remained committed to the cause throughout his life.”
