Srinagar: Muslim League on Tuesday hailed the efforts of Pakistan for the settlement of Kashmir issue, saying “Imran Khan has played a constructive role at both regional and international levels in highlighting the suffering of the Kashmiris”.
In a statement, ML leader M. Rafiq Ganaie said: “Pakistan is bound to support the Kashmiris in this hour of need, and the goal of security and stability in South Asia depends upon the resolution of this dispute in accordance with the wishes of the Kashmiri people.”
“The key to peace in South Asia lies in the resolution of Kashmir issue according to the aspirations of the people of Jammu and Kashmir,” he said. “There is no other path to peace and prosperity in this impoverished subcontinent unless the core issue of Kashmir was resolved as per its historical perspective.”
Ganaie while hailing the statement of Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan and Norway’s Prime Minister, said this is a welcome step and a source of strength for the people of Kashmir and would encourage them towards carrying forward their struggle for self-determination.
He appealed to the government of Pakistan to have “Kashmir cell” in its embassies all over the world.
