SRINAGAR: The Kashmir Chamber of Commerce and Industry (KCCI) on Monday stated that it (KCCI) would be acting as a bridge between the income tax (I-T) department and the tax payers to assist in settlement of pending issues.
The KCCI on Monday held a detailed interaction with Joint Commissioner, Income Tax Department, Rajesh Kumar Madan Lal, Deputy Commissioner, Bashir Ahmad Bhat and other officers of the income tax department at the office of the chamber here, a statement issued here read.
President, KCCI, Sheikh Ashiq Ahmad gave an overview of the state of economy and various issues concerning the income tax department.
Rajesh Kumar Madan Lal said that the department would be conducting awareness programmes with KCCI to make the business community aware and assured that all genuine assessees of the I-T department would be welcome to discuss their cases with the officers of the department.
He said that timely filing of returns and regular interaction with the department would help in allaying apprehensions consumers may have about the department. He said that the officers were aware about the conditions prevailing here and would be helping in resolving problems the business community may face, the statement added.
