Srinagar: Deputy Mayor Srinagar, Sheikh Imran on Saturday reviewed the situation of Srinagar city areas after a snowfall and also visited Gurudwara Chatti Padshahi at Rainawari, a statement issued here said.
On the occasion, Imran greeted the Sikh community on Guru Gobind Singh Ji Jayanti. Imran checked overall arrangements for the devotees.
Greeting the gathering, Imran said, “Guru Gobind Singh Ji showed us the path of salvation by spreading the cult of devotion to God and message of love, compassion, and spirituality among mankind.”
Imran visited several areas in the city including Lal Chowk and old city localities.
He also visited Psychiatric Hospital Srinagar and inquired about challenges in the faced due to inclement weather by patients.
Imran said that SMC had adequate men and machinery have been active for snow clearance operations in the city. He said SMC has established control rooms for the convenience of the general public.
He also expressed grief and shock over the tragic incident in Bemina area of Srinagar in which five members including two minors of a family died.
Imran conveyed condolences to the bereaved family. He urged that the bodies of deceased be immediately airlifted to their native village in Tangdhar as the road is closed after heavy snowfall.
