RAJOURI: Social Welfare Department Rajouri on Friday organised series of functions to pay tributes to Louis Braille on his birth anniversary. The main function was organised here at conference Hall PWD Dakbanglow Rajouri where Deputy Commissioner Rajouri Mohammad Aijaz Asad was the chief guest.
Addressing the function, Deputy Commissioner said nothing could have been a better tribute to the inventor of the script for blind, Louise Braille, than to make an effort to propagate the skill and endowed capabilities of the visually challenged so that they become a contributory human resource in real terms. He informed that the district administration will open a skill development centre which will impart vocational training to specially-abled, so that they could earn their livings.
Later, Deputy Commissioner felicitated the specially-abled blind persons who were present on the occasion by presenting them woollens as a goodwill gesture.
