POONCH: J&K Khadi and Village Industries Board (KVIB) Thursday organized bankers meeting to review and discuss modalities for effective implementation of Jammu and Kashmir Rural Employment Generation Programme (JKREGP) and Prime Minister’s Employment Generation Programme (PMEGP).
The meeting was chaired by Cluster Head J&K Bank Poonch and attended by District Officer KVIB Sameer Ahmad, Lead District Manager (LDM) S D Bali Poonch, Cluster Head J&K Bank Pervaiz Ahmed Mir, Director RSETI Sukhbir Singh, Project Manager DIC Tariq Aziz, Deputy Director Employment Kiran Bala, Chief Animal Husbandry Officer Choudhary Mohammad Younas, Area Manager Grameen Bank (Rajouri &Poonch), Branch Heads of J&K Bank and JK Grameen Bank and representative of Sheep Husbandry department.
The aim of the meeting was to familiarize various stakeholders with the self-employment scheme under the Prime Minister’s Employment Generation Programme (PMEGP).
The speakers highlighted the need for introduction of PMEGP and newly launched scheme, Jammu and Kashmir Rural Employment Generation Programme (JKREGP).
It was informed that the new credit linked subsidy programme JKREGP launched by the State Government aims to help unemployed youth set up employment ventures, projects, and village industries enterprises.
