DFP calls on New Delhi to release political prisoners

Srinagar: Democratic Freedom Party (DFP) on Thursday called on New Delhi to release all political prisoners and “create an atmosphere where people can express their will and wish independently.”
The spokesperson in a statement said Kashmir issue is an internationally accepted dispute and needs to be resolved according to the wishes of the people.
He further said that the people of Jammu Kashmir have sacrificed a lot in the way of resolving the long pending resolution, “but New Delhi is in denial mode.”
“Killings, arrests and other such measures cannot deter the people of Jammu Kashmir from voicing their dissent,” he added.
Fact of the matter is that “New Delhi is using its military might since decades together to crush the freedom sentiment of the people”, he said. “They must accept the historical facts about the dispute and start a resolution process. The first and foremost step of which is to release all political prisoners and start demilitarising the region.”
