SRINAGAR: JK Cements Employees Association on Wednesday held a protest demonstration in here demanding release of their salary pending from last five months.
Scores of protesting employees of JK Cements assembled in Pratap Park and marched towards the press enclave, chanting slogans against the Managing Director of the government-owned company.
They were holding placards which read, “Release our salary”, “Release our pending welfare fund”, “Deposit our pending welfare fund”, “Release our DA” and “Save JK cements”.
The protesting employees said that they are demanding release of their salary and arrears.
Ali Mohammad Kumar, chairman of the JK cement employees association said that from last five months they are suffering from a lot of financial crisis.
“We have approached authorities many times requesting them to release our salaries. It is unfortunate that nobody is listening to us,” he said.
“For the last 3 years, our CP Fund is deducted from our salaries, but has not been deposited in the CP Fund accounts. Rs 300 of Department Welfare Fund is regularly deducted from our account but amount is not getting deposited in the separate welfare fund account,” he said.
The protesting employees requested the Governor to look into matter and release their salaries.
