BANDIPORA: The employees of Agriculture department in Bandipora district on Tuesday held a protest against illegal occupation of an office building by a local BJP leader.
The protesting employees while holding placards and banners, raised slogans against the BJP leader and demanded that the building be vacated at the earliest.
“The BJP district president Bandipora, Sheikh Waseem Bari has illegally occupied our office building during ULB polls due to which we have to suffer a lot as district agriculture office is functioning from two rooms only, ” said Shabir Ahmad, Sub-Divisional Agricultural Officer Bandipora.
He said that as per the government order the building was provided to the political party for security purpose but the elections ended long back and the BJP leader continues to occupy the building.
“We have our official records in that building and due to the occupation by BJP leader the record is unsafe. We appeal the authorities to get this building vacated,” he said.
The employees later marched towards the Tehsil office Bandipora and submitted a complaint before the Tehsildar. The employees also filed a report in police station Bandipora.
