CRPF officer from Kashmir electrocuted in Jarkhand, dies

Baramulla: An Assistant Commandant of Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) from north Kashmir’s Uri area of Baramulla district was electrocuted in Jarkhand state on Monday night.
Reports said that assistant commandant Gulam Jeelani Khan, 30, of Manzgam village of Boniyar in Uri was posted with 157 Battalion CRPF in Khunti district of Jarkhand has touched a live wire, resulting in serious burn injuries to the officer.
Some unofficial sources said that officer touched the live wire which was installed by the Naxal’s in the area, however officials yet not confirm it.
The injured officer was shifted to nearby hospital at Ranchi for treatment, where he succumbed to his injuries.
The local police in Jarkhand registered a case and started its investigation.
The body of the officer may reach to his native village by Wednesday for last rites.
