SRINAGAR: Kashmir Mehjoor Ali was adjudged the player of tournament at the closing cermony of the Shri Gajanan Maharaj T20 Cricket Tournament held at Nagpur.
Mehjoor during the tournament took 15 wickets for CAG Delhi, with a four wicket haul in the final match on Sunday.
The match saw CAG Delhi defeat Mumbai Cricket Academy by 77 runs at Nagpur.
Earlier CAG Delhi won the toss and elected to bat first, while batting first CAG Delhi scored 186 runs for the loss of seven wickets in the allotted 20 overs, with the help of superb century knock by Abhiv Barot who scored 107 and 37 runs knock by Asif Khan.
In reply Mumbai Cricket Academy fail to chase and were bundled out on 109 runs. From the beginning of their innings they lose wickets as speed star of Jammu and Kashmir Mehjoor Ali strikes in the very first over of the match as he took four wickets in the final match and Mumbai Cricket Academy were bundled out on 109 runs.
For CAG Delhi Mehjoor took four while as Jaskaran and Karan took three wickets each.
Abhiv Barot was declared player of the final, while as speed star of Jammu and Kashmir Mehjoor Ali was declared player of the tournament for his superb bowling performance in the whole tournament. Mehjoor took 14 wickets in the five matches of the tournament.
Earlear Mehjoor four wickets in semi-fianl on Saturday and took seven wickets in previous two matches at an economy of less then 4.5 per over in the tournament.
The pacer has been neglected by JKCA selectors continiously, but he has been performing well in all the matches he played so far.
