SRINAGAR: Aspirants who did not figure in KAS (mains) examination 2016 on Wednesday held a protest demonstration here demanding re-evaluation of their answer scripts.
The protesting aspirants assembled here in Pratap Park and chanted slogans against J&K Public Service Commission. They said that there is a mass error in evaluation of their papers.
Showkat Hussain Dar, one of the protesting aspirant said it is because of the “flawed” evaluation system adopted by the Commission that they have been dropped.
“UPSC has not adopted such of kind of system for the exams. The scaling method which the Commission has adopted is arbitrary and does not reflect true merit,” he said.
Another aspirant, Owais Nanda, said this kind of notification for the KAS- 2016 was never published and had not a mention of any kind of scaling method in the exams.
The protesting aspirants requested the Governor Satya Pal Malik to look into the matter and order for re-evaluation of their papers through any other agency.
The protesters threatened to come on roads if their demands were not fulfilled.
