Transporters hold protest

SRINAGAR: Kashmir Transporters Welfare Federation on Saturday held a peaceful protest demonstration here in Srinagar against the human rights violations in Kashmir.
Scores of transporters assembled here in Pratap Park chanting slogans against the human rights (HR) violations in the Valley.
Following the JRL (Joint Resistance Leadership) call to protest the HR violations and to observe December 3-9 as ‘human rights week’, chairman of the federation, Sheikh Muhammed Yousuf said: “The drivers from various sections of society including Auto drivers, Sumo drivers, Mini Bus Service drivers and KMD drivers participated in the protest”.
“We are protesting against the human rights violations. The main motive of our protest is the human rights violations in Kashmir should be stopped forever,” Yousuf added.
