PAMPORE: A National Lok Adalat was held under the supervision of Chairman Tehsil Legal Services Authority Pampore Fozia Paul (JMIC/Munsiff Court Pampore) on Saturday.
Tehsildar Pampore Younis Ahmad Bangroo, senior and junior advocates of Bar Association Pulwama, prominent citizens and other officials were also present on the occasion.
20 criminal cases, two traffic challan cases, 22 138 NI Act, one 488 Crpc case, 8 civil cases including a long-pending case of sports ground Pampore, were settled. A total of 53 cases were settled and a sum of Rs 18,89,490 realised.
Meanwhile, National Lok Adalat was also held at the premises of District Court Complex Pulwama under the chairmanship of Principal and Session Judge Mohammad Ibrahim, Chairman District Legal Services Authority Pulwama.
During the Lok Adalat, total 226 pre and post litigation cases pertaining to criminal compoundable offence, NI Act, electricity bills, water bills cases under-section 138, bank recovery cases, MACT cases, matrimonial disputes, labour disputes etc were taken up, out of which 103 cases were settled amicably.
