Human Rights Day: JRL calls for shutdown on Monday

SRINAGAR: The joint resistance leadership (JRL) has asked the people to observe complete protest strike on Monday, December 10, “to highlight the gruesome human right(s) situation and register regret at the apathy of international community and rights organisations” towards the plight of the people of Kashmir.
The leadership comprising Syed Ali Geelani, Mirwaiz Umar Farooq and Muhammad Yasin Malik in a statement reiterated their appeal to the organisations championing for peace, the international community, Amnesty International, Asia Watch, UNHRC and ICRC to “take note of the Kashmir situation and put pressure upon New Delhi to stop grave human rights violation forthwith”.
