BARAMULLA: Eight shops were looted by unknown burglars here in main town Baramulla on Thursday night. Sources said that a group of thieves cut down the shutters of at least eight shops in Jadeed market Thursday night and looted all the goods inside the shops.
General Secretary Traders Federation Baramulla Er Tariq Ahmad Magloo said that all goods in the eight shops were looted by the thieves. He said that several other shops had been looted in the town in the past, but no one was later arrested. He said that traders were going on a one-day strike on Friday; however, after the assurance of SHO Baramulla, they called off their strike. “We will see what police will do in next few days, otherwise we will held a protest and will observe shutdown in the town,” Magloo said.
Meanwhile, the Baramulla Police have registered a case and started its investigation.
