SRINAGAR: DC XI beat BCC Reds in the final of Baramulla Premier League cricket tournament played at Showkat Ali Stadium, Baramulla on Wednesday.
The final match witnessed a massive turnout of public from Baramulla district, prominent personalities from civil and district administration besides senior Army and Police officers.
Speaking on the occasion, General Officer Commanding Dagger Division Major General Gulab Singh Rawat, who was the chief guest on the prize distribution ceremony emphasised on Army’s continued efforts towards building bridges with Awam, nurturing sporting culture and identifying young talent among the youth of the valley.
The annual sporting extravaganza provides a huge platform to the young budding sportsman to showcase their talent and to prepare them for their future prospects.
Around 64 teams participated in the tournament and was played in knockout cum league format.
