DDC Anantnag reviews status of languishing projects under hydraulic sector

Anantnag: District Development Commissioner, Anantnag, Mohammad Younis Malik, on Tuesday convened a meeting of engineers and officers of PHE, Irrigation & Flood Control to review the status of languishing projects under Hydraulic Sector.
The DDC directed the concerned engineers of Hydraulic to expedite and complete the work on all the ongoing projects and schemes under the sector.
He added that since the hydraulic sector is utmost important in day to day life, therefore, development under the sector should be prioritized.
He emphasized on the key sectors like PHE for which an amount of Rs 67.26479 Cr has been approved, for the completion of various ongoing water supply schemes and for the construction of other approved schemes throughout the district. He also directed for prioritizing two left schemes in Qazigund Division and other irrigation canals in Bringi nallah & Lidder and to submit the projects of the schemes to the higher authorities for necessary funding.
The SE hydraulic informed the meeting that a total of 104 schemes under hydraulic sector including 18 schemes under PHE (MNP), 58 PHE schemes under (NRDWP), 07 Flood Control Works & 21 Irrigation schemes have been projected under languishing schemes at an estimated cost of Rs 43070.83 Lacs. An expenditure of Rs 12394.87 lacs has been made till the end of March, 2018. He also informed that Rs 31315.29 lacs are required for competition of the above said schemes.
