Police foil ‘weapon-snatching plans’, arrest 8 accomplices of militants

Baramulla: Baramulla police on Monday said that they had foiled weapon-snatching plans of militants in several areas of the district and arrested eight accomplices of militants from Baramulla, Tangmarg and Srinagar areas.
They said that based on credible input that a criminal conspiracy had been hatched by some over-ground workers of militants to snatch weapons from policemen on duty, eight accomplices of militants were picked up by police.
Police said a case under FIR number 102/2018 under Section 18, 38 UA (P) Act had been registered at police station Tangmarg and investigation taken up. Pursuing the investigation, recovery of some arms and ammunitions had been made with the assistance of other security forces including CRPF and Army.
Police did not reveal the identity of the arrested “accomplices” in their statement released to the press.
