Baramulla: The traders associations in north Kashmir on Monday threatened of state-wide protests if the governor doesn’t roll back the SAC decision of turning J&K Bank into a Public Sector Undertaking (PSU).
Addressing a press conference at Fruit Mandi, Sopore in Baramulla district, president Fruit Mandi Sopore Fayaz Ahmad Malik said Jammu and Kashmir Bank is the backbone of Kashmir’s economy and most of the people including traders and employees are associated with the Bank.
“Treating J&K Bank as Public Service Undertaking would be a direct attack on Kashmir’s economy,” he said adding people will stage state-wide protests if the order is not revoked.
