DDC Kupwara reviews progress of TAD scheme

KUPWARA: District Development Commissioner Kupwara, Khalid Jahangir on Monday urged officers to saturate the district under identified schemes by the end of the financial year 2018-19. He further emphasised upon the officers to work as a team with coordination and dedication towards achieving maximum results in minimum time.
Khalid Jahangir was speaking while reviewing the progress of various programmes under GoI-Sponsored ‘Transformation of Aspirational District (TAD) scheme with the officers at DC Office Complex here.
In the health sector, the district is progressing well in all the indicators and that 14 out of 298 sub-centers have been transformed into ‘health and wellness centres’ and work on the remaining 24 health centres is in progress, an official handout read.
Under the education sector, total 1764 out of 1838 schools have been provided drinking water supply and 135 out of 143 higher secondary schools have been electrified till November 2018, it read.
125 Anganwari buildings are being constructed in convergence with MGNREGA and will be commissioned by the end of March 2019.
A total of 96,000 Soil Health Cards have been distributed among the farmers of the district and as such district shall be saturated by 15th of December 2018, it added.
