World AIDS Day: IRCS expresses concern

SRINAGAR: Indian Red Cross Society (ICRS) on Saturday organised a function to observe World Aids Day here at its office.
Secretary Regional Red Cross Branch Kashmir, Medical Officer Regional Cross Branch, Para Medical Staff, and president of Ahli-Bait-e-Tahireen Charitable Trust were present during the function.
The speakers expressed serious concern over the prevalence of AIDS in the State and stressed for spreading moral values in addition to taking precautionary measures. They called for taking safety measures during blood transfusion, not using infected syringes, prohibiting breastfeeding by an infected mother etc.
Noted blood donor Shabir Hussain also spoke on the occasion. It was further revealed that ICRS will be organised ‘International Volunteers Day’ on 8 December 2018 in Red Cross Branch Kashmir.
