PDP hails decision of rail link to Kupwara

SRINAGAR: The Peoples Democratic Party’s (PDP) additional spokesperson, Tahir Syeed on Saturday hailed the decision of expanding the railway link up to the frontier district of Kupwara in north Kashmir.
In a statement issued here, Tahir Syeed said that this decision will boost the economy of this frontier district and will help the business community of Kupwara to dispatch horticulture produces to other parts of India.
“Realisation of railway connectivity to Kupwara is a result of constant endeavours of Mehbooba Mufti,” he said.
The then chief minister had committed publicly that she would take up the issue with GoI and would personally follow up on the progress made, he said.
Tahir further said that Mehbooba had also raised the issue of constructing Sadhna Tunnel with GoI so that Karnah region gets all-weather connectivity.
“People of Karnah eagerly await the formal notice from GoI so they can also breathe a sigh of relief”, he added.
