Baramulla: The leaders and workers of Jammu and Kashmir National Conference on Saturday staged a protest demonstration against the recent SAC decision of making Jammu and Kashmir bank a Public Sector Undertaking (PSU).
Number of workers, including block and tehsil presidents of National Conference assembled here on Saturday and staged a protest against the government orders. Shouting slogans, they marched through different markets of Baramulla town and reached DC office where the party district president addressed the workers.
In his speech the district president NC and former minister Javid Ahmad Dar said that the decision is not only against the bank but also against the people of Jammu and Kashmir. He said, “The people of Jammu and Kashmir will not allow anyone to change its assets,” adding that people of Jammu and Kashmir will not allow to shift it (bank) under public sector. They presented a memorandum to DC Baramulla.
NC leaders in their separate speeches further said that National Conference was also against the continuing bloodbath of civilian people in south Kashmir. they said that government should immediately stop such bloodshed, and violence through forces against the civilian population in south Kashmir.
“If government will not stop this violence against civilians of south Kashmir, NC will stage protests throughout the state,” they added.
