Rationalise use of govt buildings: DDC G’bal

RENT ASSESSMENT COMMITTEE MEET

GANDERBAL: District Development Commissioner Ganderbal, Piyush Singla on Friday chaired a meeting of Rent Assessment Committee (RAC) here.
During the meeting, DDC held a detailed discussion with officers of different departments functioning from rented accommodations in the district and the owners of these buildings.
A total of 8 cases pertaining to different departments operating from private buildings came under discussion.
After a detailed deliberation the committee approved 6 cases. The DDC directed the concerned officers to expedite the payment of rents as per the rates approved in the meeting, a handout read. Singla directed the officers to rationalise and maximise the use of government buildings so that the government expenditure on rental front could be saved for developmental purposes.
Departments were directed to expedite the process of assessment of rent of long pending cases so that the owners of the building may not suffer, it added. ACR Ganderbal, N A Malik, Joint Director Planning Ganderbal, Mohammed Yaseen, Superintendent Engineer R&B, district officers from various departments, and owners of the buildings were also present in the meeting.
