SRINAGAR: Karwan-i-Islami patron Moulana Ghulam Rasool Hami on Friday asked people of Kashmir to follow the footprints of the beloved Prophet Muhammad (SAW) while stressing that there is a dire need of rooting out the growing menace of drug and liquor use in valley.
He said the young generation was falling prey to the menace of drug abuse and liquor at an alarming rate.
Hami, according to a statement, led a massive Milad rally at Central Jamia Masjid Bandipora soon after the congregational Friday prayers. Amid pro-Islam and Pro-Prophet Muhammad (SAW) slogans, the rally passed through various areas and culminated peacefully.
“At a time when on one hand, Kashmir is witnessing bloodbath on daily basis, the major challenge on the other hand is the growing consumption of liquor and other drugs among the youth, who are fast falling prey to this menace,” Hami said.
He urged people to stand up and to unite so that this menace is eliminated from the society for which revered saints have spilled their blood and sweat to spread world’s greatest religion, Islam. Hami urged people to follow the teachings of the great Prophet (SAW) in letter and spirit and to place Prophet’s law in the hearts and minds for the success here and hereafter.
