SRINAGAR: Hurriyat Conference (G) chairman Syed Ali Geelani has expressed condolence over the demise of mother-in-law of Dr Mohammad Shafi Khan (Shariati), who is facing life imprisonment.
The families of prisoners particularly those with life imprisonment have a very tough and painful life, Geelani said in a statement adding if someone departs (among them), the pain and agony gets manifold for such families.
We share grief with Dr Shafi and the bereaved family and pray for eternal peace of deceased and courage for the family to bear this painful loss, he said.
Meanwhile, Hurriyat (G) held a protest march at Hyderpora here against the “gross human rights violations” committed by forces in the state.
Addressing the gathering, Hurriyat leaders said, “The policy of suppression and repression in Jammu and Kashmir has failed to yield any positive results for India. Through the elongated period of ordeal and barbarism since 1947, India is currently facing a powerful people’s political movement for right to self-determination in every nook and corner of the state of Jammu and Kashmir.”
