Civilian injured during CASO in Pulwama, police says militants, forces exhange fire

Srinagar: A civilian was injured in government forces firing during cordon and  search operation in Niloora village of Pulwama on Saturday evening.

The injured identified as Bashir Ahmad Mir tried to run from a residental house, a source said. Forces fired upon him resulting in firearm injury to his leg. He was removed to hospital and is currently being treated at district hospital Anantnag, sources told Kashmir Reader.

Senior superintendent of police Pulwama Chandan Kohli told Kashmir Reader that brief exchange of firing took place between militants and government forces.
“One person identified as Bashir Ahmad Mir recieved bullet wound in leg during CASO when some exchange of firing took place between militants and army,” he said.
Cordon and search operation is in progress in Nilora, further details will be shared accordingly, said SSP Pulwama.
