SRINAGAR: As part of their protests calendar, employees of Jammu and Kashmir Bank on Thursday staged a protest in Srinagar to demand rollback of the decision of the state administrative council (SAC) to turn the bank into a public sector undertaking (PSU).
All India J&K Bank Officers Federation had on Wednesday called for protests against the SAC decision “which aimed at puncturing the freedom of bank it has enjoyed since it came into existence”, a official statement issued here read.
Scores of employees assembled in the courtyard of the corporate headquarters and raising anti-order slogans. The protest is scheduled to be held at zonal headquarters on Friday (today).
The association of all-India branches, for the first time in the history of J&K Bank, has gone all out against the state government’s recent order to make the bank a public sector undertaking (PSU) and bring it under the Right to Information Act, it added.
