Srinagar: Krishi Vigyan Kendra Budgam organized an animal health/ clinical Camp for the livestock farmers of Meripora, Beerwah area of District Budgam on Tuesday.
A spokesperson said during the camp more than 140 livestock farmers brought their animals which include Cattle, Sheep and Goat for treatment and advice on different ailments/diseases from experts of Veterinary Gynecology and Veterinary Medicine, Veterinary Clinical Complex, F.V.Sc & A.H Shuhama and Scientist of KVK Budgam.
On the occasion more than 250 animal were examined and mostly the cases found were like Repeat Breeding in Heifers, lameness in Goat, Foot Rot in Sheep, Mastitis in Dairy Cattle, ectoparasitic infestation in sheep and general weakness in various livestock species and was addressed, on spot Treatment of diseased animals was provided and medicines given free of cost from the KVK. Literature on disease management and winter management of livestock, prepared by Scientists of KVK Budgam, was also distributed among the livestock farmers. During the camp about 28 pregnancy diagnosis examinations was done in which 21 positive cases were found. At the end of the camp various issues related to livestock of the local population were also discussed in farmers- scientists Interaction.
