Army patrol party fired upon
TRAL: Suspected militants hurled bombs on the houses of a senior congress leader and a Panch in Tral area of Pulwama district besides attacking an army patrol party on Monday.
Superintendent of Police Awantipora Mohammad Zahid said country made bombs were hurled at the residence of a Congress leader in Batagund and a Panch’s house in Kachmulla. No loss of life or injury was reported.
Congress leader G M Mir told Kashmir Reader that he was in Srinagar when his house in Batagund Tral was attacked.
“My family was present in the house at the time of the incident. Some windowpanes were damaged in the attack,” Mir said.
Security personnel retaliated with some shots, he said.
In the second incident, a bomb hurled towards house of a panch, Abdul Rashid Bhat, at Kuchmulla Tral exploded outside his house.
Meanwhile, militants fired upon a patrolling party of Army’s 42 Rashtriya Rifles Pinglish village of Tral. The militants escaped soon after the attack, while the area was cordoned off by government forces to nab the militants. No loss of life or damage was reported in any of the attacks.
