SRINAGAR: GoI minister Jitendra Singh made his maiden visit to the corporate office of Chenab Valley Power Projects [P] Ltd at Jammu on Saturday.
Jitendra Singh is the MoS (Independent Charge) for the Ministry of Development of North Eastern Region, MoS for Prime Minister’s Office, Personnel, Public Grievances and Pensions, Department of Atomic Energy, and Department of Space.
During his visit, Singh interacted with senior officers of the company and reviewed the progress of the company’s projects.
MD CVPPPL has apprised the minister about progress of major construction works of power house and dam of 1000 MW Pakal Dul HE project. The minister was also informed that construction of both Kiru (624) MW and Kwar (540) MW can be started immediately after investment approval of the projects from GoI.
In his address, Singh congratulated CVPPPL for starting the construction of prestigious Pakal Dul HE project, which is going to benefit the state in many ways. He expressed happiness that both Kiru and Kwar HE projects are ready for construction.
During his interaction, the minister informed that the government is committed to the development of the power projects and assured all the assistance.
The review meeting was attended by Hirdesh Kumar, Commissioner Secretary to the J&K Govt- JKPDD/MD-JKSPDC, M S Babu MD-CVPPPL and other senior officers from civil administration and CVPPPL.
Chenab Valley Power Projects [P] Limited (CVPP), has been incorporated as a Joint Venture Company of NHPC Limited, JKSPDC and PTC (India) Limited, with equity participation of 49%, 49% and 2% by NHPC, JKSPDC & PTC respectively.
The Pakal Dul Project of the company is covered under Prime Minister’s Development Package (PMDP) for J&K. The foundation stone of the project was laid down by the Prime Minister of India in May this year.
