Party delegation visits Achabal to pay homage to slain Mir

SRINAGAR: Jammu Kashmir Democratic Freedom Party (JKDFP) has welcomed the Organisation of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) for its continuous support to the Kashmir struggle.

The Organisation of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) has once again reiterated its full support to the Kashmir struggle and has condemned the human rights violations of Kashmiri people, a media report said on Wednesday.

“International forums like OIC have to do more than issuing statements so that people of Kashmir are saved from the onslaught from all sides,” a JKDFP spokesperson said in a statement.

He said that OIC’s fresh statement to continue its support to the Kashmiri people is welcome but Kashmiri people need more than mere statements to get rid of the ‘imperialism’. “It is the moral obligation of OIC to plead the case of Kashmiri people in the highest forums so that atrocities in Kashmir are exposed,” the spokesperson said. Meanwhile, a JKDFP level delegation visited Akingam, Achabal in Anantnag to pay homage to the slain Tehreek-e-Hurriyat leader Mir Hafizullah. Mir Hafizullah was killed by unknown gunmen at his residence in south Kashmir’s Anantnag on Tuesday.

The delegation was led by Advocate Fayaz Ahmad Sodagar and in included Bashir Azim and Ghulam Mohammad Mukdam among others.

The delegation praised the role of Mir Hafizullah in the ongoing struggle and expressed solidarity with the bereaved family.

The delegation condemned the inhuman killing of Tehreek-e-Hurriyat district president for Anantnag.
