Inspects Fertiliser Rake Point, Udhampur
JAMMU: To ensure timely supply of fertilisers to farmers and fruit growers of Kashmir division, Secretary Agriculture Production Department (APD), Mansoor Ahmad Lone on Wednesday asked the concerned representatives of the authorised Railway out Agency (ROA) for fertiliser at Rail Head Point, to speed up the process of transportation of fertiliser to the Valley. He was speaking while inspecting the functioning of Fertiliser Rake Point, Udhampur.
The Secretary was accompanied by Director Agriculture, Jammu, H K Razdan, who is also Controller of Fertiliser, an official handout read.
Lone had a detailed discussion with the state heads of the fertiliser companies, officers of the department and concerned ROA on various issues like expansion of fertiliser shed to increase the capacity of storage to 3000 MT. He also directed the railway out agency to make adequate arrangements to speed up the process of fertiliser stocking in Kashmir Valley keeping in view the weather conditions, availability of transportation so that sufficient stock is maintained well in time.
3,932 MT of DAP, 2,652 MT of Urea and 2,643 MT of MOP have been stocked in the Valley till date, the handout read.
