SRINAGAR: Jammu Kashmir National Front on Thursday paid rich tributes to slain Tehreek-e-Hurriyat district president Mir Hafizullah who was killed by unknown gunmen at his residence in south Kashmir’s Anantnag on Tuesday morning. Muslim League and Dukhtaran-e-Milat also condemned the killing of Hurriyat leader.
“The human blood has become so cheap in Kashmir that even political activists are being massacred every now and then and people are not told who is after such gruesome and horrible acts,” NF spokesperson said in a statement issued here.
He said unknown gunmen are active in the same manner and way they were in nineties killing people on the directions of ‘hidden’ forces.
“These anti-human and anti-Kashmir elements have patronage of some forces who are not accountable anywhere that is why simple cases are lodged after every such murder which are never followed and taken to conclusions,” he said.
Expressing deep grief and sorrow over the killing of Mir Hafizullah, the spokesperson said: “Mir was a man of principles who lived for a cause and died for it. He never compromised with the oppressor and was living with his head high.”
Hafizullah will always be remembered for his freedom loving aspirations and his dedication in the way of the movement.
The spokesperson prayed for Mir’s eternal peace and expressed solidarity with the bereaved.
Muslim League
Muslim League (ML) Jammu and Kashmir has strongly condemned the killing of Tehreek-e-Hurriyat district president of Islamabad, who was killed by unknown gunmen at his residence on Tuesday in south Kashmir’s Anantnag.
A ML spokesperson in a statement expressed grief and strongly condemned the killing. “Indian rulers through their local collaborators have always played role of eliminating political activists, who raise their voice against occupation,” he said.
Mir Hafizullah was a highly educated, sensible and visionary pro-freedom leader and his sincerity, dedication and sacrifices have earned him a distinguished place and status in the state political circles especially in south Kashmir, he said.
The spokesperson said Mir Hafeez was behind bars most of the time and was recently released after about two years. “Authorities tried very hard to break his will and threatened him with dire consequences if he did not toe their line, when they failed to bow him down, they decided to eliminate him,” he said.
For the last couple of months, Mir received suspicious phone calls, and even was threatened and harassed, “but this brave son of the soil ignored all these threats.”
“But yesterday, most cunningly and brutally Mir was silenced forever,” he said.
Muslim League spokesman said that the slain resistance leader deserves tribute for his steadfastness and commitment towards the movement having spent years in prison and facing immense difficulties, Mir continued to be as a true solider of the Kashmir movement till his last breath.
Muslim League paid rich tributes to Mir Hafizullah and expressed solidarity with the bereaved family.
Meanwhile, the ML spokesperson appealed to the international human rights organizations to take note of these barbaric and extra-judicial killings.
DeM
Dukhtaran-e-Millat (DeM) on Wednesday paid glorious tributes to the assassinated Tehreek-e-Hurriyat senior leader Mir Hafizullah and condemned it in strongest possible words.
A spokesperson of DeM in a statement issued here, said: “The agencies and their proxies in the state of Jammu and Kashmir have yet unleashed the pro-state militia to cull the pro-freedom voices in Kashmir.”
“It is on the same pattern as that of infamous Ikhwan that brutalised the Kashmir populace during the peak years of militancy with the active support of state. The same Ikhwan massacred dozens of freedom loving voices,” the spokesperson said.
“A secret Ikhwan has been revived to kill the pro-freedom voices in Jammu and Kashmir,” she said.
The spokesperson said that these measures and killings won’t deter the people of Kashmir from pursuing the goal of Right to Self Determination. “The Ikhwan couldn’t do it in 90’s and it cannot do it now.”
She said that the people of Kashmir are mature enough to understand the conspiracies of the agencies.
Meanwhile, the spokesperson paid glorious tributes to the slain militants who were killed in Nadigam Shopian on Tuesday.
