Tengpora family, whose son was found dead in city outskirts last month, demand lodging of FIR

SRINAGAR: The family members and relatives of Ubaid Atalf Dar, Son Mohammad Altaf Dar, resident of Tengapora on Tuesday held a protest demonstration here demanding lodging of an FIR in the case.
Ubaid has gone missing on 27th September whose dead body was found on Ist October from a drainage near an automobile showroom at Parimpora Byepass.
The family members and relatives of the deceased assembled here at the Press Enclave chanting slogans “We want Justice” and “lodge an FIR In the Case”.
Mohammad Altaf Dar, father of the deceased said Ubaid was working as a salesman in Goni Khan. “On 27th September 2018, when he came back to his home at 7 pm, he told us that he was going with his friends as it was his daily routine. But he did not return home,” he said.
“After few days, we visited concerned police station Batmaloo and registered a missing report at the station. On Ist October his dead was recovered from a drainage in front of Ansari Toyato showroom at Parimpora Byepass. On 2th October, the post-mortem was done at Pantha Chowk,” Dar said.
He also said, however, the police started investigating the case and detained two of Ubaid’s friends and later released them.
Shaheema Altaf, Ubaid’s mother said this case is being handled by Police Station, Parimpora.
“We are demanding lodging an FIR in the case and the case should be handled by a senior police officer,” she said.
Uzma, Ubaid’s sister, said “after my brother was found dead, we couldn’t sleep properly due to the trauma”. “We demand proper investigation in the case. So, that justice is delivered to us”.
The protesting family members appealed Governor Satya Pal Malik to intervene into the matter.
When contacted Station House Officer, Police Station, Parimpora, he said that they are awaiting the FSL (Forensic Science Laboratory) report is awaited.
