SRINAGAR: All Parties Migrants Coordination Committee (APMCC) on Sunday staged a protest demonstration here in Srinagar demanding fulfillment of their demands.
Scores of Kashmiri pundits from different camps of Kashmir valley assembled here at Pratap Park holding placards and banners reading, “PM package is a failure”, “My accommodation is not worth living”, Sharing accommodation is a curse”, and, “At my birth place I don’t have a dwelling place”.
APMCC president, Vinod Pandit said under the prime minister’s package 6,000 posts in government were reserved for them.
“We are demanding fulfillment of all 6,000 posts, independent accommodation for all 6,000 PM package employees and DPC in social welfare, relief and other departments,” he said.
“We demand the basic amenities and facilities should be provided to employees on priority and model schools should be opened in all transit camps,” he added.
The protesters said that some of employees posted in ‘far-flung areas’ should be transferred within a specified radius, especially ladies.
“The final list of the PM package candidates under SRO-412 should be released on priority basis,” the protesters said. The protesters sought Governor Satya Pal Malik’s intervention for fulfillment of their demands.
