SRINAGAR: The joint resistance leadership (JRL) comprising Syed Ali Geelani, Mirwaiz Umar Farooq and Muhammad Yasin Malik has asked people to observe a complete protest shutdown in the areas going to Panchayat polls on Tuesday, November 20.
In a statement, the JRL appealed the people living in Kalaroos, Machil, Rajwar, Ganstan, Nowgam, Sangrama, Wagoora, Kangan, Rathsun and Bijbehara areas going to polls in the second phase of “sham panchayat elections thrust on them by the authoritarian state” to observe shutdown.
The leadership asked people to demonstrate their total rejection and disregard of “this futile exercise” by boycotting it completely.
