Unknown persons set abalze govt school building in Kupwara

BARAMULLA: A building of government higher secondary school in Kupwara was set ablaze by unknown persons on Sunday evening.
The building was used for the returning and assistant returning officers for the ongoing panchayat elections.
Sources said when fire broke out, some employees on election duty there, had gone for prayers. Chief education officer Kupwara Mohammad Shafi confirmed to Kashmir Reader that an old school building of the higher secondary school Hatmalo in Dragmulla Kupwara was set ablaze by unknown men in the evening.
He however said the records and other equipments are safe.
“We informed police about the incident and a team of police and other officials reached the spot and took the record and other things,” he said.
