SRINAGAR: Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) is the torchbearer for not only Muslims but the whole humanity as well, said the speakers at the Seerat conference organised by Syed Ali Geelani-led Hurriyat Conference at Hyderpora here.
According to a statement issued here, the speakers at the conference said the message of Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) is not specific to any race, region, creed, tribe or any group, but any ailing, fractured, torn or disturbed society can be benefited by His teachings to overcome every hurdle for peace and prosperity, oneness and brotherhood.
Apart from Syed Ali Geelani, the conference was attended by JKLF chairman Muhammad Yasin Malik, Tehreek-e-Hurriyat chairman Muhammad Ashraf Sehraie, Jama’at-e-Islami spokesperson Advocate Zahid Ali, Ghulam Nabi Sumji, Altaf Hussain Nadvi, Syed Shams-u-Rehman, Molvi Bashir Irfani and several political and religious leaders.
In his presidential address, Syed Ali Geelani said a land of anarchy and bloodshed, brutality and injustice was at the brink of extinct, but the arrival of Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) created such a morally sound society that in a short span of just two decades, it ruled the whole Arab and with a certain and loud message of this system spreading beyond their borders.
Prophet Muhammad’s (PBUH) devoted and dedicated companions under the auspicious guidance of “world’s most visionary personality”, worked hard to practically implement His teachings, giving birth to an Islamic state wherefrom the rays of prosperity, moral highness and justice peeped through the darkness of whole world.
Geelani also remembered the sacrifices of thousands of Kashmiri prisoners saying, “Sangh Parivaar is only prolonging their custody using judicial tools and Shabir Ahmad Shah, Peer Saifullah, Altaf Ahamad Shah, Ayaz Akbar, Raja Meraj-ud-Din Kalwal, Nayeem Ahamad Khan, Shahid-ul-Islam, Farooq Ahamad Dar, Shahid Yousaf, Syed Shakeel Ahmad, Zahoor Ahamad Watali, Asiya Andrabi, Fahmeedah Sofi, and Naahida Nasreen continue to bear the brunt of this victimisation for more than a year now.”
Similarly for the last 9 years, Dr G M Bhat is languishing in Tihar jail, he said adding that shifting of aged and ailing Hurriyat leader Ghulam Mohammad Khan Sopori to a Haryana jail is nothing but “victimisation and revenge”.
“It is disgraceful and shameful for the so-called Indian democracy to slap a pro-freedom leader Masarat Aalam PSA (37)th time. Their own courts have quashed his detention several times but authorities cannot dare to let him free,” the veteran pro-freedom leader said.
JKLF chairman Muhammad Yasin Malik said, “The life of Prophet (PBUH) is a deep ocean and it can quench the thirst of every needy who has the will and wish to do so.”
The unity on basis of Qur’an and Sunnah is the only remedy for all ours ills, he said.
Referring to the prevailing situation in the state, Malik said that “administrative data of high poll percentage should not discourage us”.
“We should focus on poll boycott and whosoever wins should be immaterial for us,” Malik said adding that “even a disgusting poll percentage of just 2 percent has not barred the political henchmen to shamefully celebrate their victory”.
Speaking on the occasion, Tehreek-e-Hurriyat chairman Mohammad Ashraf Sehraie said that Prophet (PBUH) was designated for a pious mission of establishing the rule of Qur’an and Sunnah as Islam can never thrive and flourish under the shadow of any other religion or faith.
“We too have to strive for establishing such system of governance as we believe it is the only way to lead the ailing humanity to peace and prosperity,” he said.
