Srinagar: Kashmir university (KU) on Monday warned of strict action against teachers who “hire contractual teachers” for evaluating answer scripts of students.
KU controller examinations Prof Farooq Ahmad Mir said “some of the paper evaluators do not evaluate answer scripts on their own, but hire contractual teachers of their own college or otherwise…”
The varsity order issued on Monday said that evaluators abandoning answer scripts of students “amounts to serious misconduct and violation of service rules”.
The controller of examinations asked principals of the government degree colleges affiliated to KU “to impress upon their colleagues to evaluate answer scripts on their own and not to engage any other person unauthorisedly”.
The controller warned that any “dereliction” by the evaluators “will invite administrative action and will be taken up with the Department of Higher Education for calculating APR (Annual Property Returns) of these faculty members for their further promotion”.
