Injured DSP airlifted to AIIMS

Kupwara: Seven policemen including a deputy superintendent were injured in a road mishap in Keran area of frontier district Kupwara Thursday evening, police said on Friday.
A police vehicle turned turtle in an area along the Line of Control on Thursday resulting in injuries to seven personnel including Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP), Bodh Raj, who was seriously injured in the accident, they said.
SSP Kupwara A S Dinker said that the policemen were on election duty.
DSP Raj was shifted to 92 Base Hospital, Srinagar, on Thursday, but has now been moved to AIIMS New Delhi.
A police statement said that Raj had been moved to army hospital along with two other injured personnel, “where he was stabilized”.
He was airlifted to New Delhi Friday afternoon with Director General of Police Dilbag Singh and IGP Kashmir S.P. Pani seeing him off at the airport, the statement said.
Police sources said a wireless set was also damaged in the mishap.
Police had registered a case into the incident.
The other injured in the accident were identified as Rattan Lal, Jahangir Ahmad, Rakesh Kumar and. Sanjeev Kumar.
