BARAMULLA: The officials of the wildlife department rescued an injured black bear in Khadniyar village of north Kashmir’s Baramulla district.
Official sources in the wildlife department said they received information from people of Khadniyar village – some three kilometres far from main town Baramulla – that a black bear is battling for life outside the village.
After receiving information, a team of officials reached the spot and found the injured bear “who might have been rolled down from nearby hills”, they said adding that the injured bear was shifted to Sopore head office where doctors are treating him.
Wildlife Warden for north Kashmir Mohammad Sadiq Mir confirmed that a black bear was found in the village.
“We shifted him to Sopore head office,” Mir said adding that they will release the bear after proper treatment.
