Grameen Bank hands over claim of Rs 2 lakhs to nominee

Kathua: Financial Inclusion and Insurance Department (FIID), J&K Grameen Bank (JKGB) under the chairmanship of Janak Raj Angural on Tuesday organised a camp at village Utteri, Barwal Kathua under Branch Office Barwal. The programme was aimed to widespread knowledge regarding various financial products and the recent technological innovations in banking sector.
Regional Manager, JKGB Kathua, R P Sharma, spoke at length about the ongoing J&K Grameen Bank Festival Bonanza – 2018 with a special offer of rebate in rate of interest and no processing charges on car, consumer durable goods and two-wheeler loans. He also handed over PMJJBY claim amounting Rs 2 lakh to a nominee namely, Oshma Malpotra during the event. He informed the masses about the benefits of various social security schemes like Pradhan Mantri Jeevan Jyoti Bima Yojana (PMJJBY), Pradhan Mantri Suraksha Bima Yojana (PMSBY) and Atal Pension Yojana (APY), an official handout read.
Appreciating the efforts of HOD FIID & Incharge FLC Vipan Gupta for his efforts in widespreading the social security schemes, he told the gathering about the latest developments in PMJDY like the overdraft amount raised to rupees ten thousand and the age limit to open a PMJDY account increased to 65 years and that there will be no condition for Overdraft up to rupees two thousand plus, adding that the accidental insurance cover for new Rupay card holders has been raised from Rs 1 lakh to Rs 2 lakh for the new PMJDY accounts opened after 28.08.2018.
“Hundred percent claim settlement rate is already maintained by the bank and the nominee of the insured person gets a financial aid of Rs 2 lakh, he said.
