Kashmir Sikh community demands revocation of Sro-425

Srinagar: Kashmiri Sikh Community on Monday held a protest demonstration here in Srinagar demanding revocation of SRO-425.
The Sikhs from various district of Kashmir valley assembled here in Pratap Park under the banner of Kashmir Sikh community.
Holding placards and banners reading: “SRO- 425 totally injustice with Kashmiri Sikhs”, ” stop favoritism”, “Do Justice of equality”, “stop discrimination with Kashmiri Sikhs” and “we want Justice”.
One of the protesters, advocate Bikramdeep Singh said that in 2009 under Prime Minister’s package approximately 3000 posts were created for migrants. “Out of 3000 posts, 500 posts were kept reserved for Kashmiri minorities who had not migrated from the valley. But Jammu and Kashmir government has amended it and reserved them for non-migrant Kashmiri Pandith families only.
All Parties Sikh Coordination Committee (APSCC) chairman Jagmohan Singh Raina demanded revocation of SRO 425 order immediately so that Sikh community can avail the job benefits announced under the Prime Ministers Package.
He said that they met chief secretary and advisor to Governor and raised their concerns to them. “We asked authorities to rectify the order that is precisely framed for Kashmiri Pandith community.
“This order is a totally injustice with the Kashmiri Sikh community,” he added.
The protesters threatened to continue their protests if their genuine demands are not fulfilled.
