Early snowfall may bring wild animals to civilian areas: Wildlife officials

Baramulla: The early snowfall of the past week in Kashmir valley not only forced people to wear warm clothes, it has also forced wild animals to come into the residential areas.
The reports said that several wild animals including leopard, black bear were seen in various villages from past week after heavy snowfall in forest areas.
The officials of the wildlife department have issued an advisory in which they warned people living along the forest areas not to move alone in the orchards and in other fields.
Wildlife warden for north Kashmir Mohammad Sadiq Mir while talking to Kashmir Reader said that they have not received information of presence of wild animals in civilian areas yet, but they can move towards the villages in search of food.
He said that there are so many orchards where several types of apple are either on trees or in other sheds and it may divert the attention of black bear towards the apple and other fruits. He said that wildlife teams are working in the field but the people should inform the officials in time and should cooperate with the teams.
