Shopian: One-way traffic was restored on Mughal Road that connects Kashmir valley through Shopian in southern Kashmir to Rajouri and Poonch districts in Jammu division on Friday.
The road was closed for vehicular traffic on November 3 following heavy snowfall at many places in the road including Pir ki Gali.
Deputy Commissioner Shopian, Owais Ahmad told Kashmir Reader that the traffic was allowed on Friday from Poonch towards Shopian.
“After proper monitoring of the condition of the road the traffic movement will be allowed from both sides,” he said.
Officials of Mechanical Engineering wing of Mughal Road Development Authority told Kashmir Reader that the snow clearance task has been completed in a record time of five days despite avalanches and shooting stones at many places.
